Todays App of The Day is the iRentMovie iPhone app. The reason I chose this app is because it is one of the apps that I use frequently and I figured that it was a good app to start with. I happen to use Netflix because it is cheaper than Blockbuster or any other online video rental store and they give you many more benefits than the competition.  Click the link at the bottom of this article to visit the Netflix site and decide if Netflix is for you. Let’s get on to what this app is all about. This app allows you to manage your Netflix account while you are away from your Mac (or PC).
For example, let’s say you’re traveling and you see or hear about a movie coming to DVD or what not, you’re away from your Mac. What do you do? Just grab your iPhone and open the iRentMovie application. From there, you can add that movie to your Instant Only or Disc queue, or you can even search for your favorite movie from within the app. The app will search the official Netflix website and you will most likely find your movie.
Here are some of the details about the iRentMovie app….

You can add, delete or reorder the titles in your Instant Queue. Just use the Edit button to make any changes.	You can add, delete or reorder the titles in your Disc Queue. Just use the Edit button to make any changes.
Another nice feature is that you can use the Browse Options to sort by Popularity, Title, or Year. Then display by All, DVD Only, Blu-Ray Only or Instant Only.	Use the Search Options to search by Titles, Cast, or Directors and then display All, DVD Only, Blu-Ray Only or Instant Only. Then choose the release year range.
You can view rental history, suggestions, or titles from the apps home screen. Choose the More Button which displays the Suggestions, At Home, History and Account options.	From the Top Charts icon, you can view various charts like the Top 100, New Releases, New Choices to Watch Instantly or the Top 25 in each genre.

Another feature that I didn’t list above is that you can rate the titles you have watched or specify titles that you aren’t interested in so that they don’t show up in your suggestions.  Also, one of my favorite features that make this app really handy is that if I’m interested in watching a movie through either my XBox 360, TiVo or Roku, I don’t have to go to my Mac to add the movie that I’m interested in. I can just do a search for a movie that is of interest to me and then add it to my Instant Only queue. It instantly shows up on the screen the movie that was added.
